Account Director - USA / Canada

Position

  • Account Director US/Canada –based in US, ideally West Coast
  • Frequent Domestic/International Travelling required (40%)
  • The position reports to the Director of Sales Collezione (strategies and actions coordination) and to the Group Director of Sales (Supervision and HR)

 

 Responsibilities

  • Revenue generation from Travel Industry accounts in the US / Canada territory is the primary focus of this position
  • Communicating with Director of Sales Collezione and hotels on industry trends, business practices and market opportunities is an integral part of this role
  • Direct sales activities and revenue goals must be met

  • Corporate 20%

 

The position duties and responsibilities will include to (but not limited to)

  • sell to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
  • provide direction on, and conduct market research and analysis
  • attend workshops/tradeshows organized by third parties
  • organize multi target Starhotels roadshow and client events on his/her own
  • travel to the assigned countries following the yearly sales activity plan
  • implement the strategies indicated by the hotels
  • maintain regular contacts with the hotels represented
  • participate to Trade shows, showcases representing the properties belonging to the group
  • maintain the relationships with the local accounts of the representation companies (LHW, PHG, SLH)
  • contribute to the yearly  preparation of budget and sales goals and sales activity plan for the assigned countries
  • interact constantly with GMs and DOS to carry out their sales goals per segment per country and helps them to identify, follow up and develop business opportunities
  • liaise and coordinate with HO Departments (marketing, revenue and accounting) to implement new business that needs coordination across different expertise
  • measure the ROI of each sales activity (business leads generated and confirmed)
  • follow up personally on each new business opportunity helping the hotels to respect deadlines and convert the business into revenue
  • review on a monthly basis country metrics and statistics to ensure that the hotel goals are met or to implement recovery plan
  • maintain and update accurate profiling and info on Opera/SFA for the accounts assigned
  • inform hotels about scheduled sales activities by providing them with useful business information in advance and updates them after each sales mission
  • prepare accurate reporting of the sales activities and key projects providing real added value for the hotels

 

Mandatory requirements

  • we are looking for an individual with a min. of 4-5 years Travel Industry Sales experience in the luxury segment as DOS / Account Director
  • ability to work independently
  • extremely self-motivated
  • strong communication skills - written and verbal - with a keen attention to detail to engage internal and customer relationships
  • expert level computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • ability to multitask and prioritize work load and projects simultaneously and efficiently
  • ability to use socials (LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook) to find new business sources, to nurture new clients by sharing useful contents
